The House
I absolutely loved the house that we rented. It is VRBO # 8109. It was perfect for us and I truly got spoiled falling asleep listening to the waves. The house had everything that we needed and then some. The kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance & utensil. We did have a problem a couple of days with ants, but we soon learned to keep all of our dry food in the refrigerator. The only other issue we had was with the countertop, it was butcher block and it had recently been oiled. The oil got on absolutely everything. We eventually had to cover the top with paperbags to keep it from getting on anything we set on it.

I don't recall if there was any specification as to the age of children that are allowed. I seem to remember there was, but I don't remember what the age was. Everything in the house is white, the towels, the comforters, the rugs, the furniture....everything. So you definitely need to pay attention. The beds & pillows were extremely comfortable and there were extra pillows, sheets and towels. There is no AC in the house but every room has a ceiling fan and there are several windows and sliding glass doors that let in a very nice breeze. The house also comes with all of the beach items you need, lots of snorkeling gear, boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, coolers, beach bag, towels. All of this stuff came in very handy. The house is right on the ocean on a very quiet street. The views are amazing and you can walk to Lawai beach or Baby beach very easily.

Location
We only made 1 trip up north but very quickly decided that Poipu was the perfect place for us. The weather was substantially better and there also seemed to be more to do and more places to eat. We also loved Kapaa as well, but would probably stay in Poipu again.

Final Observations
This was our 1st trip to Kauai and I planned activities and had a very detailed itinerary. The detailed itinerary worked very well for our family and all of the planning I did turned out to be perfect. There were some things on our list that we did and some that we didn't, but that was ok, we enjoyed all of our activities, but if we were to return we probably wouldn't do some of them again. I was shocked at some of the prices for items, mostly food. But we expected high prices. Some were warranted and some were just outrageous.

The locals that we met at the restaurants, shops and activities were extremely friendly and warm. We never ran into anyone with a negative feeling towards us. We had a wonderful time and we will definitely come back.

Mahalo & Aloha!!!
